Frances G. Rudell age 91 of Alexandria died on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Bethany Home. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM on Monday, March 7, 2016 at First Lutheran Church in Kensington. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
OBITUARY
Frances was born in Lindstrom, MN on February 21, 1925 the daughter of Frank A. and Eva (Sherman) Johnson. She grew up in the Scandia and Marine on St. Croix area. She attended and graduated from the Stillwater High School in 1942. In 1947, she graduated from the Vocational School of Minneapolis with LPN and Lab Tech degrees. She accepted a position at Glenwood Hospital in Glenwood, MN and then moved on to the Lowry Clinic in Lowry, MN.
On November 4, 1950, she was united in marriage to Leslie Rudell at Norunga Lutheran Church in Lowry. They were married for 55-1/2 years. Frances worked as a nurse for several years at the Hoffman Care Center. In 1973, she started employment at Bethany Home and retired from there in 1989.
Frances loved spending time with her family, cooking/baking, gardening and watching the Minnesota Twins. Fond memories by all of us kids of Mom making homemade bread. We are still in awe at her ability to whip up a 12-loaf batch of bread! It was a special treat when she opted to make a couple pans of caramel rolls in place of 4 loaves of bread!
Frances Genevieve Rudell died Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the age of 91. She is survived by her children; Catherine & Tom Claussen, Ann & Chuck Anderson, Jon & Linda, Marvin & Wendy, Paul and Renee, Phillip & Cathie, Mary & LeRoy Kirckof, Douglas & Bonnie and Cynthia; fourteen grandchildren, Eric & Karla Claussen, Cody Anderson, Leah, Sarah & Amy Rudell, Zackery & Crystal Rudell, Adam, Nicole & Brianna Rudell, Imogen & Justin Kirckof, Erin Rudell; eight great-grandchildren, Matthew & Jacob Claussen, Samantha & Connor McCarty, Lily & Adam Merkins, Genevieve Halverson, Alexis Rudell; two sister-in-laws, Harriet Staffanson and Edna Mae Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank & Eva Johnson; husband, Leslie; grandsons, Uriah Rudell, Wyatt Anderson and Ethan Rudell.
A memorial service was held on Monday, March 7, 2016 at First Lutheran Church in Kensington with Reverend Irv Arnquist officiating. Burial will be at Wennesborg Cemetery in Solem Township.
