Gary Walter Pautz was born on June 7, 1944, in New Ulm, Minnesota. The son of Walter and Aleda (Fahrenkamp) Pautz. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. Gary graduated from Gibbon High School in 1962. On January 30, 1965, Gary was united in marriage to Kay Dianne Anton at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. To this union two sons were born: Thomas & Douglas. The couple resided in Northeast Minneapolis for several years and then moved to Maple Grove, MN. In 1991, Gary was transferred to Seattle and they moved there until they retired to the cabin in 2011. Gary was an active member at the following churches: Gloria Dei in Minneapolis, MN, Light of Christ in Federal Way, WA and Ebenezer in Leaf Valley, MN. He also was a member of the Corvette Club in Tacoma, WA. He loved playing cards, telling stories, giving advice, traveling and spending time with his family and many friends. Gary and Kay felt blessed that they could share their homes with their neighbors and many guests. Gary and Kay died on Thursday, July 24, 2014, in Kansas due to an automobile accident. He is survived by his sons: Tom & wife, Angela of Maple Grove; Doug & wife, Katie of Minneapolis; four grandchildren: Matthew Palmer, Michael & wife, Atanza Palmer, Abigail & Amber Pautz; sister-in-law, Caroline ?Carol? Swanson. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 1, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Leaf Valley Township. There is a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial is at Ebenezer Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home. www.andersonfuneral.net
