Gary Uhde

July 25, 1946 — April 4, 2015

Gary Curtis Uhde was born on July 25, 1946 in Parkers Prairie, Minnesota, the son of Arthur and Norma (Grothen) Uhde. He attended Parkers Prairie High School and graduated in 1964. After graduation he served his country in the Army National Guard.
On August 12, 1967, Gary was united in marriage to Paula Schultz. The couple lived in various areas before making Alexandria their home in 1984. During this time, Gary worked for Alexandria Extrusion until 2012 and after retirement worked at Arrowwood taking care of the grounds.
Gary will always be remembered for his sense of humor – he could always tell a colorful story. He was his kids’ and grandkids’ number one fan, attending many of their events. A great attribute of Gary’s was his willingness to try anything once. Hobbies that were close to his heart were playing golf, hunting deer and taking care of his four-legged buddy, Ozzy. He cherished his time with family and friends, especially the holidays.
Gary died on Saturday, April 4, 2015, at his home. He is survived by his wife, Paula; daughter, Michelle McBride of Alexandria; sons, Greg (Emily)of Glenwood, Chris (Bethany) of Alexandria; grandchildren, Damon, McKenna, Avarie Uhde; brothers, David of Deer Creek, Gail (Vicki) of Alexandria; sisters, Diann (Ray) Olson of Brandon, Sandi (Steve) Froemming of Miltona and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, Rob McBride.
Honorary Pallbearers: David Uhde, Gail Uhde, Delbert Moske, Jeff Kutz, Dan Larson, Mason Stender and Darryl Thoennes.
Funeral services were held on Friday, April 10, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home. Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home. www.andersonfuneral.net
