OBITUARY Gerald ?Jerry? Peter Larson was born on April 17, 1939 in Douglas County to Peter and Agnes (SundBerg) Larson. Gerald was the first born of twins and he was delivered by his grandmother who helped deliver all of her daughter?s children. He went to a country school and then graduated from Central High School in the Class of 1957. He then moved to Rockford, IL and worked for his brother in the sheet metal business for a couple of years. Gerald moved back to Alexandria and married Gayle Star on May 7, 1960 at the St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Reno Township. Together they moved to Minneapolis where he graduated from Dunwoody Institute and then made their home in Brooklyn Center, MN. Gerald worked in the heating and cooling business installing for residential and commercial clients and had worked at Welter Heating and Air conditioning for 20 years. Jerry loved his family and was always available to help them out. He could fix anything and was especially good with cars. He loved his dog Sasha and he would feed stray cats and birds. He even trained a bird to eat out of hand. Humming birds were his favorite bird to watch and feed. Jerry liked to hunt, fish, and travel. He also was an avid reader. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him. Gerald P. Larson died on Monday, April 15, 2013 at the St. Cloud Hospital at the age of 73 years old. He is survived by his wife Gayle Larson of Miltona, MN; sons Todd (Jesse) Larson of Dayton, MN, Kevin (Rosie) Larson of New Orleans, LA, Rick (Jeanie) Larson of Alexandria; and Greg Larson of Alexandria; 6 grandchildren: Sage, Merissa, Clay, Ashley, Heidi, and Zachary; brother Roger Larson of Rockford, IL; twin sister Janice (Lee) Kaltved of Miltona, MN. He was preceded in death by parents, two sisters and one brother. A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Wayne Erickson officiating.
