Gerald Shaughnessy

Gerald (Jerry) R. Shaughnessy was born on May 21, 1943, in St. Paul, Minnesota. He died peacefully on Sunday, May 4, 2008. Jerry attended grade school at St. Bernard?s and later attended high school at St. Paul Central. Jerry was a member of St. Mary?s Parish in Alexandria where he attended Mass regularly. He was a gentle man with a loving heart. Jerry had a strong faith in his Savior and many times he was observed quietly praying the rosary. He enjoyed family gatherings, visiting with family and friends. He loved reading, watching the old western movies and he especially enjoyed watching the sitcom ?Ugly Betty.? Gerald is survived by his foster family members: Jeanne Stark, Ellen Walther, Sue Green, Marilu Belgum, Larry Stark, Dorothy Sayre, Christine Stark, Noreen Thorp, Jackie McFarlane, Annie Fluto, Michael Stark, and twenty one foster nephews and eight foster nieces. He will be sadly missed. Parish Prayer Service was held on Tuesday, May 06, 2008, 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2008, 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Alexandria. Pallbearers were members of Jerry?s family: Michael Fluto, Jason Fluto, Joe Green, Ryan Sayre, Casey McFarlane, Nate Stark. Burial will be at Our Lady of the Runestone Catholic Cemetery in Kensington. Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home.
