Ginny Gobel Virginia ?Ginny? Gobel was born in Freeport, Minnesota, on April 24, 1931, the daughter of Henry and Johanna (Gerads) Lange. She graduated from Upsala High School and moved to the Minneapolis area. Ginny began employment with Honeywell and it was there that she met her future husband. Ginny and Tom Gobel were married in St. Francis, Minnesota on September 11, 1954. The couple lived and raised their family in Robbinsdale where Ginny enjoyed her years as the homemaker to the family. After Tom retired the couple moved to Alexandria in 1996 and also wintered in Florida beginning in 1996. Ginny truly enjoyed playing golf and fishing. She and her husband were members of the Alexandria Golf Club and the Plantation Golf Club in Florida. She died in Gainesville, Florida on April 30, 2013, at the age of 82 years. Ginny is survived by her husband Tom Gobel of Alexandria, sons Terry Gobel of Forest Lake and Jim (Kris) Gobel of Hayward, WI; grandchildren Sarah Gobel of Blaine, Becky Gobel of Blaine, and Cassy Gobel of Hayward, WI; great-grandson Logan and sisters Bernice Welters of Crystal and Dorothy Meier of Holdingford. Ginny was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and three sisters. Memorial Mass is scheduled for Saturday, May 11, 2013, at 11:00 am from the St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Alexandria. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Friday, May 10, from the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the donors choice, the Food Shelf of Alexandria, or the United Way.
