Gladyce Marjorie (Lahnala) Wohlk was born on January 26, 1929, in Halden Township, MN, to Arthur Lahnala and Aino Salo. During her 93 years, Gladyce was able to grow and create a life for herself that she could have only dreamed of. She and husband, Charles Eischen, were blessed with four daughters early in life and with growing girls, her gardens were both important and enjoyable to her. Gladyce was always able to take charge of her life and taught her girls valuable life lessons so they could grow up to be the best they could be. On August 5, 1966, James “Jim” Wohlk married Gladyce and her four girls. After the birth of her fifth daughter, their family was complete. Later in life, Gladyce was not only able to complete her GED, but also earned her business degree. She was a successful career woman working her way through promotions in the Anoka County Courts. Gladyce was also talented musically. She was self-taught on the guitar and piano which she paired with her beautiful singing. Gladyce enjoyed sharing her love of music with others whether it was at church or with family around the holidays. Family was the most important part of Gladyce’s life, and becoming a grandma was one of her greatest joys. Each grandchild had a special place in her heart, and she loved showering them with love and of course candy. Gladyce had such an amazing presence where wherever she went and will remain in all the hearts that she was able to touch during her life.
