Glenda Rae Nelson was born in Madison, Minnesota, the daughter of Lloyd and Doris (Milbrandt) McLagan. She was raised and attended school in Bellingham, MN. She then married the “Love of her Life”, Tyler Nelson on July 23, 1960. Glenda stayed at home and raised two wonderful daughters Cheryl and Sandra. Tyler’s work brought his family to many cities throughout Minnesota and Glenda always made the best of the home she lived in for her family. In 1999, Glenda and Tyler moved to Alexandria 7 years before Tyler passed away in December of 2006.
Glenda met the second “Love of her Life” in Arvid Beyer. They have been committed to each other for the past 10 years. Glenda and Arvid enjoyed traveling in their motor home to Arizona, playing cards, eating out at restaurants and walking their little dog "Mollie". They especially enjoyed dancing the night away to country music around Alexandria and the surrounding areas.
Glenda was a strong, honest and fair woman. She loved people and wanted to make a friend wherever she went. Glenda was well known and liked in her favorite restaurants. The waitresses even knew what table she liked to sit at and what food she would like to order.
Family was extremely important to Glenda. She loved each of her children and grandchildren equally and enjoyed every moment she was able to spend with each of them. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
