Gloria Ruth Myrin was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who left a profound impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her. Gloria passed away on July 16, 2024 in Maple Grove, Minnesota. She left behind a lot of love and kindness which will forever be cherished.
Gloria was born August 7, 1935, in Minneapolis to parents Alexander and Mabel Gray. She grew up in South Minneapolis and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1953. Throughout her life, Gloria maintained close bonds with friends from high school, in particular her girls’ group who went by the name, “IVIs,” acronym for “I’m Very Important.”
Gloria met Charles “Chuck” through friends and the two married and have four wonderful children: Nancy, Cathy, Tammey, and Charles Jr. Gloria adored her husband, and together they made the best team. She also loved and adored her children and took great care of them. She was an amazing mom, the BEST mom. Gloria found joy in the simple pleasures of life, she took immense pride in her family and her home. She was a dedicated homemaker and enjoyed the time with her family.
She was a loving grandmother who cherished time spent with her grandchildren as much as they did with her. They were never ready to leave when they visited as they found immense joy in her presence.
Gloria is preceded in death by her parents Alexander and Mable Gray, her beloved husband Charles Myrin, her sister Marjorie Hennek, and brother James Gray, and other relatives and friends.
She is survived by her children, Nancy (Dan) Leupke, Cathy (Mark) Christopherson, Tammey (Richard) Stroh-Seawell, and Charles (Leslie) Myrin Jr. Her grandchildren Katie Swanson, Ben (Tracy) Leupke, Stephanie (Adam) Grecula, Jenny Christopherson, Luke (Kelly) Christopherson, Sara (Mike) Brisse, Hayley Christopherson, and Cal Myrin. Her great grandchildren Claire Swanson, Daniel Swanson, Bridger Grecula, Annabelle Grecula, Hayden Leupke, Jolie Grecula, and Amelia Christopherson.
While we mourn the loss of a beloved soul, we take comfort knowing that Gloria’s spirit will live on through memories she created with those she loved.
In honoring Gloria’s life, a visitation will be held at Anderson Funeral Home, Alexandria on Saturday July 20, 2024 at 10:00 AM followed by funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Garfield, Minnesota.
May we remember Gloria not with sorrow, but with gratitude for her warmth and kindness. Her unwavering love will forever remain etched in our hearts as we carry forward the light she brought into our lives.
