She was baptized and confirmed at Fahlun Lutheran Church in rural Nelson. She was part of the Mattson-Shogren klan from around the area. She and her siblings numbered 8. Later she married Henry Gordon and they had 3 children. James, died as an infant; Paul passed away from a climbing accident in Wyoming; and Carol. They spent their married life in Alexandria; Nelson; Fargo, ND and Nord?est Minneapolis. Some nieces and nephews lived with them while they attended the University. Staples were shopping at Apache Plaza, and going to Minnehaha Falls and Como Park. Her favorite job was in the fabric department at Donaldson?s Department Store, on Nicollet Mall. She loved to sew and was an excellent seamstress. She once won a store-sponsored contest where she and Henry got a trip to Nova Scotia. While she loved all flowers, her wedding flowers and favorite were daffodils. Her favorite show was Johnny Carson. She and Paul would stay up late and laugh, watching it. Her favorite pet was a cock-a-poo named Benji. When Henry died and she later retired, she and Benji moved back to Alexandria and in with her sister, Gloria. When it was time for her and Gloria to move, she went to Bethany Home and joined her sisters, Reggie and Ethel. Good years followed, the road was a more difficult at the end, but she had no regrets and passed away peacefully. Eunice died on January 29, 2011 at Bethany Home in Alexandria at the age of 89.
