Greg John Hagedorn

Gregory John Hagedorn was born on May 8, 1960, in Alexandria, Minnesota to Stanley and Marjorie (Steidl) Hagedorn.  Greg graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1979.  He attended Austin Technical College for a carpentry degree and worked for a short time for a carpenter and spending much of his life making various projects for family and himself.

Greg married Lori Berg on April 25, 1987, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota and to this union had two kids Zachary and Amber. In 1997, he moved to the Alexandria/Brandon area where he worked at Standard Iron and other various fabrication jobs.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and amateur photography.  He relaxed by watching old Westerns or catching a Twins or Wild game on the television. He also loved to read and was interested in learning how to live the way the Native Americans lived. Greg belonged to the Knights of Columbus.  He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be remembered for his huge heart.

Greg died on Friday, May 19, 2023, at Alomere Health in Alexandria at the age of 63.  He is survived by his kids, Amber Hagedorn of Denver, CO; Zachary Hagedorn of St. Cloud, grandkids, Eden and Isaiah. Siblings, Sue Iverson of Spring Valley; Julie (Tim) Teig of Pelican Rapids, Tom (Kathryn) Hagedorn of Maplewood, Bob (Lisa) Hagedorn of Alexandria, Matt Hagedorn of Alexandria, Chris (Ursula) Hagedorn of Germany; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.  Greg is preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Marjorie; brother, Michael Hagedorn; and nephew, Daniel Teig

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Millerville.  Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
