On June 5th, 2022, Harold (Harry) Frank Bettin began his eternal life in heaven after a seven-year battle with dementia and a fifteen-year battle with bone marrow cancer.
Harry was born in Millerville, MN to John and Cecelia Bettin as the 7th of 8 children. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, in which he proudly served for 3 ½ years. Upon returning home, Harry met and married the love of his life, Marlene (Zimmel) Bettin. They were married for 54 years and raised three children and were blessed with seven grandchildren.
Harry was a loving husband, caring father, and devoted grandfather. He deeply valued his family and did much throughout his life to bless them and bring them joy. Harry was an ardent patriot with a deep love for America and the American flag. He loved to fix things, whether furniture, Farmall tractors, or the problems of the world.
More than anything else in his life, Harry’s first priority was his faith. He was a devout Christian and sought to honor the Lord with his life. Even in the late stages of his dementia, Harry’s greatest pleasure was derived from singing praises to God. Near the end of his life, he stated numerous times that his sole aspiration was to sing to Jesus in heaven.
Harry is dearly missed, but he is now with Jesus in a place with no more pain and no more dementia. His legacy lives on in those who were blessed to know him and appreciate for themselves his dedication to FAITH in Jesus, FAMILY, American FLAGS, and FARMALL tractors.
Harry is preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Bettin. He is survived by his beautiful and loving wife, Marlene, his three children, Bill (and Stephanie), Michelle (and Mychal), and Molly (and Jeff), his seven grandchildren, Morgan, Quinten, Logan, Jackson, Madison, Paige, and Violet, and many other relatives and friends.
