Harold John Pantze was born July 5, 1930, near Villard, MN, the son of John and Bernice (Cobert) Pantze. Harold attended country school through the eighth grade. Following school, he remained on the farm to help his parents. As a farmer he was turned down by the US Army twice. At age twenty-four he was accepted by the Army and served in Germany.
Following his discharge from the Army, Harold returned to Minnesota and was married. The couple moved to Minneapolis where they began raising four children. Harold ended up raising all four children himself. He worked hard to support his family and would do anything for them. Harold worked at Eaton Corporation where he operated machines manufacturing hydraulic equipment. He retired from Eaton after thirty-four years.
Harold enjoyed collecting model train sets and die cast model cars. He enjoyed watching WWE on television. Harold spent many days at threshing shows throughout Minnesota; he loved these shows and tried to attend as many as he could. His greatest hobby was looking out for his children throughout their lives. In 2007 he moved from Minneapolis to St. Joseph to be closer to his children. As Harold aged his children did their very best to look out for him
