Harriet Larson

Harriet Arlene Larson was born on March 1, 1939, in Minneapolis, Minnesota the daughter of William and Clarenza (Foslien) Olson. As a young girl Harriet loved to ride horse. She graduated from Alexandria High School. On May 28, 1960, Harriet was united in marriage to Lyle Larson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Holmes City. After their marriage the couple lived in LaGrande Township and a few years later moved a couple miles back to Harriet?s family farm where they raised their five children. Harriet and Lyle worked together on the farm in the early years. She also worked at Fingerhut, at Douglas County Hospital and Knute Nelson in housekeeping and had several other jobs throughout the years. Harriet was very involved in her church doing quilting for the missions, in the choir and bible study, helping with fund raising or wherever she was needed. She looked forward in the Fall to League Bowling, enjoyed driving, doing cross stitch and going to auctions. Harriet died on Saturday, November 30, 2013. She is survived by her five children: Charles (Jennifer Barrick) of Holmes City, Randy of Holmes City, Donald of Holmes City, Carrie Larson of Alexandria, Sandra Toso of Holmes City; five grandchildren: Erika Hoerner, Jarek Toso, Nicholas, Kyrstin Barrick, Vinny Sposito; great grandson, Lachlan; sister, Arlene Gillies of Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her husband; brother, Curt and sister, Frances. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Holmes City.
