Hayden Minnerath

Hayden James Minnerath, the son of Ryan and Amanda (Wallgren) Minnerath, was born on May 28, 2012 in Minot, ND. The first six months of his life Hayden lived in Minot before moving to Alexandria, MN. At his new home, Hayden loved to be outside playing in his sandbox and digging with his backhoe and loader, filling up his trucks with dirt and sand. Hayden liked going hunting and “ishing” with his dad and for Ranger rides with his Grandpa Jim. Hayden had a cute little way of asking to do things, saying “Do you want to go outside? Do you? I’ll be careful!” He knew exactly how to get what he wanted. If Mom and Dad said “No,” he would go right to his grandparents, and, of course, they always said “Yes”.
Ryan and Amanda have priceless memories of Hayden, beginning with his first words, to being able to have a full conversation with him. Whether he was watching “Paw Patrol” or playing with his toy guns, Hayden had a determined little way about him. Big sister Ellie’s favorite memories of Hayden will be of him playing with his toys and trying to mimic her dance moves. Ryan, Amanda, and Ellie will forever miss Hayden’s adorable hugs and little kisses.
In the short time he was on earth Hayden touched many hearts. His big personality in his little body made him sought after by many friends and relatives at family gatherings. He was an adored son, brother, grandson, nephew, and cousin. He will always be loved and remembered by all those who were touched by his smile.
Hayden was called to be with the Lord and his Grandpa Jim in Heaven on Monday, March 30, 2015. He died at the Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis, MN at the age of 2 years, 10 months, and 2 days. He is survived by his loving parents, Ryan and Amanda Minnerath of Alexandria; sister Ellie Wallgren-Goodman of Alexandria; grandmother Debra Minnerath of Alexandria; grandparents Bob and Janet Wallgren of Carlos, MN; aunt Rachel Minnerath of St. Cloud, MN; uncle Scott Minnerath of Sauk Rapids, MN; great-grandfathers Alfred (Toby) Minnerath of Starbuck, MN and Jim Olson of Staples, MN; and many cousins and great-aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandfather James Minnerath; his great-grandmothers Rose Mary Minnerath and Daneen Olson; his great-grandparents Edwin and Cornelia Wielenberg, Gert Wielenberg, and Carl and Rosemarie Wallgren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 1:00 pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alexandria. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Monday, April 6, 2015 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria and also for one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Interment will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Alexandria. Casket Bearers will be Alex Nelson, Brandon Saxton, Grant Minnerath, Jeffery Pappenfus, Josh Anderson, and Ryan Swiontek.
Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria, MN.
