Henry Frederick Prechel was born on August 27, 1928 to William and Edna (Stark) Prechel. Henry attended country school in Springfield, Minnesota. One night while at a roller skating rink Henry met a young lady by the name of Irene Seligman and on August 27, 1950 in a small country church in Jeffers, Minnesota they were united in marriage. Together they farmed for ten years in Lamberton, Minnesota, then moved back to Springfield and later moved to Worthington where they raised their three children Nancy, Dale and Audrey. The family moved to Arizona for two years before moving back to Minnesota in 1974 and settled in Stillwater. Henry worked for 17 years as a forklift driver for Unisys where he retired in 1989.
Henry enjoyed traveling and went camping with Irene for 14 years to places like Plainview, Minnesota, Texas and Florida. He also, enjoyed fishing, putzing with his cars, and adored his grandchildren. Henry was a family man, a devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather, and husband.
Henry Frederick Prechel died on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Bethany Home at the age of 86 years old. He is survived by his wife, Irene and children, Nancy (Terry) Young, Dale (Jackie) Prechel, and Audrey (Tim) Putnam; 6 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.
