In the early 1970’s, the family built a home on Big Chippewa in Brandon and moved there shortly after Herman’s retirement.
Herman enjoyed fishing, canning, gardening, mowing the yard, woodworking, making windmills or just tinkering. He loved sitting on the deck watching the birds, especially the cardinals. Herman also loved visiting with friends and his 3:30 drives to Leaf Valley, Millerville or Brandon.
