Hope Ann was born on October 25, 1955, in Graceville, Minnesota the daughter of Wayne and Dorothy (Polish) Ledman. As part of a military family she moved from school to school eventually attending and graduating from Jefferson Senior High School in Alexandria in 1973. She had a love for music and played clarinet in the band. She was free spirited, adventurous and often the life of the party.
After high school she met and married Mike Spellman and to this union two sons were born: Michael & Christopher. The family lived in Alexandria until the early 1980’s before moving to Floridas Palm Beaches. She continued her free spirited adventures around coastal Florida, Bahamas, Jamaica and much of the Caribbean. She loved the tropics, loved the sun, beach and outdoors. She loved people, embraced others culture and loved to cook. Most of all, after raising two boys as a single parent, Hope loved being gramma to her two granddaughters. Liv Annalei and Brooke knew nothing but love and all the treats of grammas beach house.
Hope will be remembered as a woman who loved. She was proud of her small town roots. She loved her family. She loved her path. She loved where it brought her and the friends she met along the way. She was a proud and loving mother and grandmother. “Until we meet again. In the place where no shadows fall”
Hope passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023. She is survived by her two sons: Michael (Jenny) Spellman, Christopher (Michelle) Spellman; grandchildren: Liv & Brooke; brothers: Michael Ledman, Kenneth (Mary) Ledman, David (Jodie) Ledman; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
