Ida Sylvia (Pipo) Muecke was born the second to the youngest of 15 siblings on May 4, 1919 in Moe Township, Douglas County, Minnesota to Carl and Anna (Olson) Pipo. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school in Moe Township. Ida was united in marriage July of 1945 to Virgil Muecke at West Moe Lutheran Church. The couple moved to a small farm near Brandon for a few years before they bought a farm. Ida worked on the farm with Virgil, milking cows and driving tractor and taking care of the home and children. Ida was very involved at West Moe Lutheran Church with ladies aid, singing in the choir, Sunday School and being the secretary and treasurer. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking and baking, which many of her breads, pies and canned goods she brought to the county fair. Ida died on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Bethany Home at the age of 94. She is survived by her daughters, Valerie (Robert) Lundsted of Grand Rapids, Rosanne Thompson of White Bear Lake, and Sherry Thompson of Alexandria; grandchildren, Lyle (Nikki) Lundsted, Andy Lundsted, Neil Lundsted, Chad (Jenelle) Thompson, Shawna (Joseph) Nelson, Craig Thompson, Cory Thompson; great grandchildren, Annika and Britta Thompson, Logan, Brandy, and Kylie Lundsted, Ethan Lundsted, Skyly Thompson, Ayden Hultmann and Jeremy Nelson; great-great grandchildren, Alexis and Jackson Bourasa; and many nieces and nephews. Ida is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Anna; husband, Virgil; infant son; four brothers; and ten sisters. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at West Moe Lutheran Church in Moe Township with Sarah Evenson officiating. Music was provided by organist, Barb Gulbranson and soloist, Tara Bitzen. Interment was held at West Moe Lutheran Church Cemetery. Casket bearers were Ida?s grandsons and honorary casket bearers were Ida?s granddaughter and great-grandchildren. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria
