Ivy Ardell Hills

Ivy A. Hills was born on July 6, 1934, in Alexandria, MN to Reuben and Elsie (Erickson) Hvezda.

She was raised on the family farm in Lake Mary Township.  Ivy graduated from Alexandria High School in 1952.  After graduation she was employed at Alexandria Telephone Co. for several years. Ivy then was employed in the Superintendent’s Office for Independent School District #206 for 25 years, retiring in 1999.

Ivy A. Hills died at the age of 88 on November 10, 2022, at her home after a long battle with cancer.

Ivy is survived by her 3 children; Tom (Renae) Hills, Julie (Larry) Trushenski and Jodi Hills (Dominique Orsolini), 3 grandchildren; Josh (Betsy) Hills, Rachel (Ryan) Buse and Dr. Jesse Trushenski (Jim Bowker), 5 great grandchildren; Quinn, Charly and Layne Hills, Brody and Micah Buse.

She is also survived by 2 brothers; Jon (Lillian) Hvezda and Reed (Kay) Hvezda, 3 sisters-in-law; Betty Hvezda, Mavis Hvezda and Lottie Hvezda, brother-in-law; Kardell Schmidt and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers; Ron Hvezda, Tom Hvezda and Nick Hvezda and 3 sisters; Kay Anderson, Karolynn (Mike) Doherty and Sandy Schmidt.

Memorial Service on November 18, 2022, at 3:00pm at Shalom Lutheran Church with visitation 1 hour prior to the service.

A private family inurnment will be at Lake Mary Cemetery.
