Jack W. Doneff Age 79, of Alexandria, MN, passed away peacefully on May 18. 2008. The best husband, father and grandfather anyone could hope for. Survived by wife Marlene, sons Bryan and Michael, daughter-in-law Darci and granddaughters Brittney and Jacqueline. The friendliest guy you?ve ever met, he was also the most generous, helping the less fortunate through the Shriners Children?s Hospital. To Jack, strangers were only friends he hadn?t yet met and he could start a conversation with anyone. Born to parents John and Mary Doneff, grew up in Minneapolis, attended West High School, The University of Minnesota and the Minnesota School of Business. Enlisted in the Navy in 1950, spending most of his military duty on North Island at San Diego as an Aviation Electrician in Fasron 7 & 4. In 1952, married Marlene Lindgren and settled in San Diego a few blocks from the beach, returning to Minnesota in 1954 to begin their family. The consummate salesman, Jack was in the office machine business in the Twin Cities for over 40 years, establishing M & W Inc., one of the Midwest?s first Canon office machine dealerships. He truly enjoyed working with his customers and helping them with their office needs. Devoted longtime member of the Masons, Shriners (West Suburban Shrine Club) and the Minneapolis Breakfast Club, of which he was an Honorary Member. Retired and moved to Alexandria in 1994, joining Alexandria Constellation Lodge 81 and the Alexandria Shrine Club. He enjoyed his life to the fullest ? his family (especially his granddaughters), travel and meeting new people, working in the office machine industry, building model cars and airplanes, and fishing. Memorial Services Thursday, 5/22 at 11 am from the Calvary Lutheran Church in Alexandria. and on Friday 5/23 at 10 am from the Washburn ? McReavy Edina Chapel (West 50th St. at Highway 100). Visitation on Wednesday 5/21 at the Anderson Funeral Home, Alexandria from 5-7 pm with Masonic Services at 7 pm. Memorials suggested to the Shriners Hospital for Children or Masonic Cancer Center.
