John (Jack) W. Trumm was born on October 1, 1929, in Litchfield, Minnesota to Archie and Clara (Estensen) Trumm. He graduated from Grove City High School in 1947, and from the University of Minnesota in 1952 with a B.S. in Pharmacy. In the Korean War Jack served as a liaison officer and ambulatory platoon leader with the Norwegian Mobile Surgical Hospital. He joined his father and brother in the family business, Trumm Drug in Alexandria in 1954. He served as MN Pharmacy Association President in 1992-1993. Jack was active in the community. He took on leadership roles in the Jaycees, Lions, Masonic Lodge, United Way, Knute Nelson Nursing Home, and the Red Cross. At First Lutheran Church, he was a member of the choir for 50 years and sang solos at many funerals and weddings. Singing in the Barbershop chorus and Resorter Quartet, musicals and other community choruses brought him great joy. He married Genevieve Marie Peper Persson on October 10, 1970 and became a father to Greg and Dean. Daughter Sara was born in 1972. Jack passed away on April 4, 2014, at Grand Arbor at the age of 84. He is survived by his wife, Jenny; children: Greg (Val), Dean and Sara, and grandchildren, Justine, Samantha, Lauren, and Lucas. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bill. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 11, 2014. 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria. Burial will be at Kinkead Cemetery.
