Jacqueline “Jac-e” Stach Challes was born on January 30, 1974, in Breckenridge, Minnesota. She was baptized into the Catholic Faith at St. John’s Church in Wahpeton. The family lived in Breckenridge until Jac-e was in the 2nd grade when they moved to Carlos, Minnesota. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1992 and furthered her education at Alexandria Technical College receiving her Degree in 1996.
Jac-e was united in marriage to Kevin Challes on July 30, 1994 to this union three sons were born: Bradley, Steven, and Andrew. Her three sons were her pride and joy. Jac-e worked at the Douglas County Hospital as a Lab Tech. She also enjoyed working at Angelinas and at the concession stands at the race track.
Jac-e will be remembered for her love of life, her dependable, compassionate, positive nature, and her willingness to drop everything to help someone in need. She also loved spending time with her family camping, enjoyed holiday gatherings or something as simple as a bonfire or reading. But we cannot forget her love for country music especially Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan.
In May of 2014 Jac-e found out that she had cancer and through her almost year long fight she never complained, stayed positive and was so patient with her caregivers. A quality that will never be forgotten.
Jac-e died on Sunday, April 12, 2015. She is survived by her sons: Bradley of Moorhead, Steven of Brandon, Andrew of Brandon; boyfriend, Steve Johnson of Alexandria; parents: Gloria & Don Daker of Miltona; sisters: Amanda Daker of Alexandria, Kristi (Adrian) Herbst of Frazee; grandparents: Harry & Helen Daker of Carlos; step brothers: Christopher Barrows of Parkers Prairie, Scott Darrington of Idaho, step sister, Melissa Knudson of St. Cloud; special adopted brother, Robbie Carlsen, special adopted sister, Tara Rasmusson; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 17, 2015, 1:00 PM at Calvary Lutheran Church. Burial at Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home.
