James Feeks

James “Jim” Robert Feeks was born on May 17, 1943 to James and LouVerne (Feda) Feeks-Samons in Alexandria, MN. He graduated from Jefferson Senior High School in the class of 1961. In 1962, Jim married Jane Ondracek and this union was blessed with three children: Jim, Randy, and Jody. Jim was a hard worker and held a variety of jobs throughout his life, including working for Anderson Windows in Minneapolis before relocating back to Alexandria to attend the Alexandria Technical College for Diesel Mechanics. After receiving his associate’s degree, Jim was employed by Bellanca Aircraft and then eventually Eagle Aircraft, a subdivision of Bellanca. Lastly, Jim held a position with Alex Extrusion and was a dedicated employee for over 20 years until his retirement. Jim’s true passions in life were racing, the Alex Viking Speedway, and NASCAR. He worked as a racecar mechanic and briefly drove racecars at Viking Speedway. His other life interests included pool, bowling, golf, and darts. Jim was known to be outgoing, having a quick wit, and always being right. He loved his family and they loved him; Jim will be remembered as a socialite who loved to spend time with friends over a cold beer.

On Saturday, February 9, 2019, at the age of 75, Jim passed away at his home in Alexandria. Preceding him in death are his parents, James and LouVerne; beloved grandparents, Robert and Olga Feda, and step-father, Al Samons.

Jim is survived by his children, Randy (MaryKay) Feeks of Alexandria, Jim (Terry Conn) Feeks of Minneapolis, and Jody (John) Peterson of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Jimmy Feeks, Mandy Feeks, Lauren Peterson, and Ashton Feeks; brother, Al Samons of Missouri; sisters, Cindy (Gary) Lund of Alexandria and Dru (Bill) Haines of Missouri; Aunt, Audrey Hoefer, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 15, 2019 from 5-7:30 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home, and continue on Saturday, February 16, 2019 from 12-1 PM, followed by the funeral service at 1 PM the Anderson Funeral Home. Interment will be at Kinkead Cemetery.
