James Jesnowski, 75 of Fargo, formerly of Evansville, passed away at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota on Friday, February 21, 2025. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Brandon. Burial will be at St. Ann's Cemetery, with a funeral luncheon to follow. A public visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Saturday.
James Theadore Jesnowski was born on September 23, 1949 to Eleanor (Yorek) and Anton Jesnowski in Alexandria, Minnesota. He was one of two boys born to the couple growing up on the family farm near Evansville and attending public school in Evansville. He graduated with the class of 1967.
Besides his lifelong career of farming, James also attended college for a time studying real estate, worked at Home Depot, and for Transamerica transporting railroad workers – which he loved as he got to experience new places, meet new people, and spend time driving, one of his hobbies.
After the passing of his father in 1972, James became the main caregiver of his mother and his brother Jerome, who was injured in a farm accident. James was loving and dedicated to keeping his mom and brother on the farm for the remainder of their lives and enjoyed trips to Duluth with his mom at least twice a year until her passing in 2006.
In 2010, James met the love of his life and partner Carol Miranowski. Together, they enjoyed trips and taking their RV to Medora, North Dakota. Carol taught James to love thrifting and the art of finding treasures; and James became an expert negotiator.
When James’ health started to decline nearly eight years ago, he spent more time in Fargo with Carol, eventually moving off the farm and into The Meadows on University in Fargo, North Dakota nearly three years ago. While James took a bit to warm up to people, he eventually became very social and very popular at dice and bingo – which he loved and refused to miss, even for important appointments. He was a lifelong lover of animals and had a gift of interacting with them.
James was hospitalized several times at Sanford Hospital in Fargo starting in mid-February and passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025; he was 75 years old.
Left to cherish his memory are his partner, Carol Miranowski of Fargo; and many beloved distant relatives and friends. James is preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Eleanor Jesnowski; and his brother, Jerome Jesnowski.
