Jane Boesen

Jane A. Boesen was born on January 25, 1936 in Howell, Michigan to Harold and Helen (Clark) Milett. She graduated from Howell Public School in 1955. After graduating, she worked at Spagnuolo?s candy store. Jane moved with the family to Lansing. She then moved to Stillwater as a housekeeper at St. Michaels Catholic Church. Jane married Bernard J. Boesen on April 5, 1975 in Stillwater. They moved to Bernard?s family farm where they were dairy farmers. To this union the couple was blessed with one son, Bernard James Boesen Jr. Jane was a member of Seven Dolors Catholic Church until they moved to Brandon in 1990 when they retired. They joined St. Ann?s Catholic Church where she helped with funeral lunches. Jane volunteered at Brandon Elementary for 17 years. She enjoyed crocheting, making mittens that were donated to the needy. Jane also enjoyed taking vacations in the summer and going for road trips. Jane died on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at the Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria at the age of 76. She is survived by her son, Bernard James (Jim) Boesen Jr. of Brandon; brother, Harold Joseph (Judy) Milett of Mason, MI; sisters, Margaret (Bob) Dutkiewicz of Fowlerville, MI, Catherine (R.L. Hester Jr) Milett of Lansing, MI, and Bertha (Charles) Jonckheere of Dimondale, MI; and many nieces and nephews. Jane is preceded in death by her husband, Bernard; parents, Harold and Helen; and sister, Nancy Helen Milett. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at St. Ann?s Catholic Church in Brandon with Reverend Father Leroy Schierel officiating. Music was provided by Kim Byrne. Interment was in St. Ann?s Catholic Church Cemetery. Casket bearers were Allen Boesen, Richard Klimek, Shane Blowers, R.L. Hester Jr., Jim Myers and Ben Rusch. Honorary casket bearers were Harold Joseph Milett, Robert Dutkiewicz, and Charles Jonckheere. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria
