Janice Elaine (Carney) Petersen was born on July 4, 1939 in Buffalo County, Wisconsin to Jesse and Dorothy (Dennis) Carney. She graduated from Patrick-Henry High School in Minneapolis, MN in 1957. Jan married Richard Petersen on August 16, 1958 in Minneapolis. The couple made their home in Brooklyn Center. To this union, the couple was blessed with two sons.
