Jay Holmgren

Jay Johannes Holmgren was born on July 28, 1979 in Alexandria, Minnesota the son of Doyle and Becky (Johnson) Holmgren. We will always remember Jay for his unique laughter and excitable personality. His personality was infectious and he loved people.

His happiest moments were with his daughter and his family. We all know Jay struggled with addictions and the temptations of this world. But anyone who knew him will always know how much love he had in his heart.

Jay had many interests including fishing, sketching, guitar playing, and working on automotive vehicles. His biggest hobby and dream was to build custom motorcycles. He also enjoyed trips and long rides on his motorcycle.

Jay died on Friday, October 28, 2016 at the age of 37. He is survived by daughter, Frankie Ann Holmgren; mother, Becky (Scott) Gilbert; grandmother, Twyla Johnson; sister, Liza Foster; brothers, Kyle (Molly) Holmgren and Tom Holmgren; nephews, Austin Harris, Kade Holmgren, Pierce Holmgren; nieces, Katelyn Harris and Maya Holmgren; great-niece, Sutton Ann Rosart; and special friend, Jessica Anderson.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold & Gladys Holmgren, Carlton Johnson; and father, Doyle Jay Holmgren.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 3rd from 1-2 PM at the Faith Lutheran Church in Evansville, with services held directly following at 2 PM at Faith Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Mound Grove Cemetery in Evansville, MN.
