Jeanette Evelyn Neussendorfer was born January 13, 1956 in Alexandria, MN, the daughter of Paul and Magdeline (Roske) Neussendorfer. She was the youngest of ten children. Jeanette was raised in Osakis, MN and graduated from high school at Osakis. On May 7, 1983 Jeanette was united in marriage to Michael Holmquist at the Alexandria Christian Center. The couple made their home in Alexandria and they were blessed with one son, Michael. Jeanette worked at the Skelly Truck Stop and also worked one year on road construction. She was a chat host for Talk City for two years. Most recently Jeanette worked as a caregiver for New Beginnings. After about three years with New Beginnings Jeanette was forced to retire due to her health. She has been fighting liver cancer since October 2008. Jeanette enjoyed spending time collecting angel figurines and doing craftwork. She also collected cookbooks. Cooking and baking was something Jeanette did well. Her family enjoyed her cooking, especially her calico beans, bread pudding and pizza hot dish. She loved the outdoors and liked to work in her garden. Jeanette also loved spending time in the boat and going fishing. On Sunday, January 8, 2012 Jeanette died at the age of fifty-five years. Her parents; one brother, Wilfred Neussendorfer; and one sister, Pauline Neussendorfer, preceded her in death. Jeanette is survived by her husband, Michael Holmquist of Alexandria; her son, Michael Holmquist of Menagha, MN; three brothers, Robert Neussendorfer and wife, Barbara, of North Charleston, SC, John Neussendorfer and wife, Alice, of Sauk Centre, MN, Kenneth Neussendorfer and wife, Susan, of Oriska, ND; four sisters, Marie Fraune and husband, Michael, of Wadena, MN, Phyllis Woitalla and husband, Clarence, of Pillager, MN, Pat Rutten of Osakis and Darlene Hinnenkamp and husband, Joseph, of Eagle Bend, MN; and one sister-in-law, Gabby Neussendorfer of Germany. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Friday, January 13, 2012 at the Church of St. Mary in Alexandria. Reverend Father Steve Binsfeld will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary?s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Thursday with a prayer service beginning at 7:30 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home.
