Jeanette McClellan

December 15, 1927 — May 13, 2011

Jeanette Katherine (Kasemaker) McClellan was born on December 15, 1927 in Todd County to Fred and Margaret (Tschida) Kasemaker. She lived in Osakis into her teen years and then moved to Alexandria where she entered the 9th grade. After school she went to work candling eggs for North American. Jeanette met her husband Lyle McClellan and the couple was married in Portland, Oregon on September 24, 1946 where she became a homemaker. They lived in Oregon a short time before moving back to Alexandria. Upon their return to Alexandria Jeanette started working at Bethany Home in Alexandria. She was very passionate about her work and was employed there for over 20 years. Her hobbies were ?cleaning Lyle?s fish catch?, playing cards with her friends and family, embroidery and drinking coffee with the neighbor ladies. There was never a time when you would visit Jeanette without having one of her many delicious homemade desserts. Jeanette loved the outdoors ? planting flowers, gardening and riding her favorite John Deere lawn mower. She also had a passion for feeding the birds, deer, turkeys, and watching all the wildlife, right outside her kitchen window. Jeanette passed away on May 13, 2011 at the St. Cloud Hospital at the age of 83. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Margaret; sister, Helen Miller; and one brother, Harold Kasemaker.
