Jeanie Claire was born on February 27, 1946 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. At four months old, she was adopted by Llyal and Mildred Hanson and was raised as the youngest of five children. Jeanie attended public school in Fergus Falls, MN, graduating with the class of 1964. She then went on to take classes at the community college in town hoping to one day teach kindergarten. During this time Jeanie met William “Bill” Pahan and the two were married on November 27, 1965. The following year they moved to Alexandria, MN where they welcomed two children, Lisa and William Craig.
While Bill spent his entire working career as a lineman for REA, Jeanie found enjoyment in several vocations. A knee injury finally forced her into retirement years after Bill had formally retired himself. While not working or spending time with her family, Jeanie enjoyed reading, tending to her indoor plants, volunteering at the hospital and school, and getting into mischief with her lifelong best friend, Jean.
Soon after Bill’s passing in May of 2023, Jeanie moved to Edgewood Assisted Living in Alexandria until her peaceful passing on Friday, April 25, 2025; she was 79 years old.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Lisa Lord; granddaughters: Kaileigh Pahan (Corey Hinnenkamp), Mallory Pahan; great-granddaughters: Hunter Claire Burczyk, Maggie Rose Burczyk; sister, Beth (Dale) Fretland; sister-in-law, Gloria Hanson; and honorary daughter, Amy Brock. She is preceded in death by her parents, Llyal and Mildred Hanson; husband, Bill Pahan; son, William Pahan; son-in-law, Keith Lord, and siblings: Llyal (Roanne) Hanson, Bob Hanson, and Richard Hanson.
