JEANNE M. FRITZ
Jeanne Marie Miller was born January 27, 1956, in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Russell and Rosaleen (Kranz) Miller. Jeanne was raised and schooled in Minneapolis. Following her graduation from high school Jeanne moved to Carlos, MN and she received an associate degree from Fergus Falls Community College.
Jeanne was united in marriage to Jerry Fritz on April 16, 1976. The couple made their home in Carlos, MN and were blessed with two children, Jenn and Chris.
Jeanne worked for many years as a nurse at Douglas County Hospital before a back injury sent her back to school. She received her bachelor’s degree i9n social work from St. Cloud State University. While in school for her master’s degree at the University of Minnesota she worked for Swift County as a social worker.
After obtaining her master’s degree she then ventured off to start her own business called Willow Lake incorporated where they offered inpatient and outpatient therapy that she ran successfully until the time of her death.
Jeanne was a longtime member of the Church of St. Mary in Alexandria, MN.
Jeanne enjoyed time by the water and watching the loons. She liked to read and occasionally go horseback riding. She loved her flower gardens. Most important to Jeanne was the time she spent with her husband, her children and her grandchildren. Family was very important to her.
On Friday, August 21, 2020, Jeanne died unexpectedly while enjoying one of her favorite pastimes, going for a walk. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister-in-law, Ann Miller. Jeanne is survived by her husband, Jerry Fritz of Carlos; daughter, Jenn Anderson and husband, Robert, of Evansville, MN; son, Chris Fritz and fiancée , Trista Berglund, of Alexandria; grandchildren, Katie Anderson, Tristin Anderson, Brittney Fritz, Destiney Fritz, Miley Fritz and Riley Berglund; one brother, Dick Miller of Lakeville, MN; and two sisters, Mary Ellen Smith and husband, Jeff, of Farmington, MN and Julie Hill and husband, John, of St. Bonifacius, MN; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Masks, social distancing and building occupancy limits are required at the funeral home and at the church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at the Church of St. Mary in Alexandria, MN. Viewing will be from 9:30 until 10:15 AM Wednesday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home.
