Jeanne Marie (Anderson) Jergenson was born on the family farm in rural Villard, MN on October 12, 1930 to Roy and Blanche (Mershon) Anderson. She graduated from Villard High School in 1948 and attended St. Cloud Business College. Jeanne married Lloyd Jergenson at her parents? home near Lake Amelia on October 15, 1949 by Reverend Friedrick. The couple lived a few months in St. Paul where she worked at Montgomery Ward. They moved to a farm in Rolling Forks Township in Swift County. In 1956, they moved to a farm owned by Jeanne?s parents northeast of Villard and purchased it in 1961. Jeanne sold the farm in 1994, after Lloyd?s death and moved to Alexandria. She worked for 7 years at a floral/gift shop in the Viking Plaza Mall, and did volunteer work at Knute Nelson Memorial Home for several years. Jeanne was a hardworking farm wife and devoted to her family. She always had a concern for others and was always looking out for her family. She loved spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren, whom she loved very much. Jeanne died on Sunday, October 19, 2008 at her home at the age of 78. She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Blanche; and husband, Lloyd. She is survived by sons, Bruce (Debbie) Jergenson of Minnetonka and Steven (Pamela) Jergenson of Blaine; grandchildren, Rebecca and Emily of Minnetonka, Aaron and Stephanie of Blaine and step grandson Matthew Wear of Las Vegas, NV; brothers, Paul (Velma) Anderson of Alexandria and David (Diane) Anderson of Scottsdale, AZ; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Zion Lutheran Church in Alexandria with Reverend David Hinz and Terry Finnern officiating. Music was provided by organist, Jonette Brogaard and soloist, Dan Olson. Interment was held in the Lake Amelia Cemetery in Villard, MN. Casket bearers were Matthew Wear, Rebecca Jergenson, Emily Jergenson, Aaron Jergenson, and Stephanie Jergenson.
