Jeanne C. Rice age 76 of Alexandria and formerly of Osakis died on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at the Douglas County Hospital. A Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 11AM at the Osakis Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 from 4-7PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria and also for one hour prior to the service at the Osakis Lutheran Church on Wednesday.
OBITUARY
Jeanne Colleen Rice was born on February 3, 1939 the daughter of Milton and Lorraine (Luckhardt) Rice in Springfield, MN. Jeanne moved with her family to the Alexandria area where she graduated from Central High School. She then married Ricardo Allison and three children were born to this union, Tamara, Sherry, and James. Together they made their home in the Alexandria area. After 20 years of marriage Jeanne and Ricardo divorced. Jeanne then moved to Las Vegas, NV and married Seldon Formo. After about 5 years, they moved back to Minnesota where they resided in the Nelson area until they divorced. Jeanne then moved Coon Rapids and she worked in a clerical position at the Minneapolis Grain Exchange. Jeanne's Mother moved down there with her where they shared an apartment until Jeanne retired in 2001. They moved to Osakis and continued living together until her Mother passed. Jeanne moved to Bethal Manor apartments until 2012 when she went to Knute Nelson Memorial Home where she resided until her passing.
Jeanne was involved with the Osakis Lutheran Church writing birthday cards to parishioners. She enjoyed making her own greeting cards to send to family and friends and she also enjoyed scrapbooking. She loved to read and she also loved her Minnesota Vikings. She liked to be out of the house to visit with friends and liked to watch movies on Netflix. She also kept in contact with family and friends via Facebook. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughters Tamara Allison of Bastrop, TX and Sherry (Patrick) Wenner of Alexandria; son James (Anita) Allison of Alexandria; 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sisters Janice Berghius of Coolidge, AZ and JoNell (Richard) Rutten of Cleburne, TX; brother Thomas (Shirley) Rice of Osakis, MN; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, great grandson Andrew Walker,son-in-law Ronald Dean Young; and her brother-in-law Robert Berghius.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the Osakis Lutheran Church in Osakis, MN with the Reverend Rich Fitzer officiating. Inurnment was in the Nelson Cemetery. Casket Bearers were Anthony Walker, T.J. Walker, Adam Prestino, Tracy Walker, Cory Allison, and Dillon Allison. Honorary Casket Bearers were Tyler Gould, Lindsey Gould, Larissa Prestino, Joshua Peterson, Kelly Lynn Monroe and Travis Petermeier.
