Jeffrey Lynn Froemming was born on November 11, 1952 in Leaf Valley Township, Douglas County, Minnesota to Kenneth and Delrose (Ost) Froemming. He was baptized and confirmed at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Leaf Valley and confirmed by Reverend William Moeller. Jeff attended school in Alexandria and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1972. He then worked at Bellanca Aircraft while attending Alexandria Vocational Technical College in the Carpentry Program. Jeff was united in marriage on August 18, 1973 to Linda Steenhoven at St. John?s Lutheran Church in Garfield. The couple then moved into their home, which was the old train depot from Garfield that Jeff moved to their present location and remodeled. The couple was blessed with two sons, Ken and Aaron. Jeff worked in carpentry for a few years, and then worked for Drymor Industries of Alexandria. He later went to work for F&M Plastics in Fergus Falls and then worked for Juno in Alexandria as a Quality Control Inspector until he retired in 1992 due to health reasons. Jeff loved the outdoors. In the spring and summer he loved planting and tending to his vegetable garden, which seemed to get larger and larger each year. He also enjoyed watching and feeding the birds. In the fall Jeff really enjoyed hunting and reloading shotgun shells for family and friends. Most of all Jeff was a family guy who thought the world of his boys. He loved being a grandpa and hanging out with his ?Little Dudes?. Jeff died on Sunday, May 18, 2008 at St. Mary?s Hospital in Rochester at the age of 55. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda; sons, Ken (Jennifer) Froemming of Elbow Lake and Aaron (fiance, Tammy) Froemming of Garfield; grandchildren, Logan and Bryce; mother, Delrose Froemming; brothers, Kevin (Holly) Froemming of Fergus Falls, Dave (Rita) Froemming of Garfield and Rod (Mary) Froemming of Garfield; sister, Elaine Froemming of Windsor, CO. Jeff is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Froemming. A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Leaf Valley with Reverend Kenneth Bunge officiating. Music was provided by organist, Kristi Wussow, and soloists, Jennifer Maloney and Brad Lake. Interment was held in the Ebenezer Lutheran Cemetery. Casket bearers were Tonia Schauls, Patty Froemming, BJ Ost, Trevor Dittberner, Troy Dittberner, Russ Froemming, Tom Zimmel, and Kayleen Schultz. Honorary casket bearers were Jim and Sandi Dittberner, Tom Egan, Norman and Iris Stark and Tom Schultz. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.
