Jenice Kathryn Molitor, the daughter of Thomas and Olive (Olsen) Engesser, was born on October 9, 1936, in Balaton, MN. Jenice lived on a farm near Balaton. She attended country school near Balaton and graduated from Russell High School in the class of 1954. Jenice helped her sister and brother-in-law by babysitting their children for a few years. She met the love of her life, Gordie Molitor at a pool hall in Green Valley, MN. Together they were united in marriage on May 25, 1957, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tracy, MN. Five children were born to this union Todd, Tim, Toby, Tammy, and Troy.
Jenice worked for the 4-H office for a few years and also helped her aunt and uncle in Minneapolis. In 1959, they moved to Marshall to begin Gordie’s career at Schwans Foods Company. During Gordie’s employment for Schwans, Jenice and her family lived several places including Holstein, IA, Altoona, WI, Eau Claire, WI, and Marshall. Jenice decided to stay at home to care for their children. She made every attempt to attend school functions and sporting events, always being their biggest fan.
In 1973, Jenice and Gordie built a small cabin on Lake Miltona and later built their retirement home just down the road. Many weekends and summertime fun were spent enjoying lake life with family and friends. They also enjoyed spending winter getaways at their home in Scottsdale, AZ.
Some of Jenice’s hobbies included: golfing, playing bridge and cards, cooking, traveling, and reading. Spending time with her family was the most important part of Jenice’s life. She loved watching her kids and grandchildren with school-related activities and their time at her lake home.
Jenice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
