Jerald "Jerry" Faber

Jerald “Jerry” Louis Faber, the son of Harold and Mariel (Rappe) Faber, was born in Austin, MN on March 15, 1943.  He graduated from Austin High School in 1961.  Jerry met Kay Wussow in Austin, MN and together they were united in marriage on February 2, 1963 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Austin, MN.  In 1972 they moved to Alexandria where they raised their three children Chris, Dave and Paula.  Jerry worked in the trucking industry most of his life.  He owned and operated JK3 trucking for many years.  Jerry traveled the entire lower 48 states and Canada, logging more than 3 million miles, mostly accident free.

During Jerry’s younger years, he enjoyed taking his kids deer hunting up north and fishing in Canada.  Later in Jerry’s life he liked spending time at his hobby ranch in Deer Creek.  He also enjoyed reading.  Jerry loved his grandchildren and was always interested in their hobbies, sports, and careers.  Fond memories of Jerry will be of him telling stories of his travels around the country and of him listening to Twins Baseball on the radio.

Jerry L. Faber died on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Knute Nelson at the age of 75 years old.  He is survived by his children, Chris Faber (Julie Cassell) of Alexandria, Dave Faber of Miltona and (Lori Rehovsky), and Paula Faber of Brandon; eight grandchildren, Ashlee (Cory) Abers, Jenell Faber, Chase Faber, Allison Sturges, Cody Faber, Jenna Sturges, Danielle Faber, and Marissa Sturges; brother, Larry (Gayle) Faber of Austin; sisters, Diane (Terry) Barnett of Austin and Cindi D’Ambrosio of New Jersey; nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his wife Kay Faber and his granddaughter Alanah Faber.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 11:30 AM at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel.  Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM at the Anderson Funeral Home.  Interment will be in Lake Charlie Cemetery of Ida Township.
