Jerry was born July 9, 1945, in Alexandria to Walter (Jim) Kuhlman and Ruth (Gurley)Kuhlman and raised on the Osakis Farm. He went home to be with the Lord on September 10, 2024, after living in Bethany on the Lake.
Jerry attended Osakis High School before enlisting in the army in 1965. He served in Augsburg, Germany through 1967.
In 1968 Jerry married Susan (Sue) Jeanette Laplante and together they had three children; Jason (Janelle) Kuhlman of Monticello, Daniel (Shannon) Kuhlman of Plymouth and Jennifer Kuhlman of Forest Lake.
Jerry worked for Ford Motor Co. for 35 years retiring out of the St. Paul plant. He worked with Robotics in the Paint Department.
Upon retirement Jerry bought the family farm at Osakis where he continued hunting, fishing and enjoying country life. Januarys in Mexico were looked forward to.
Jerry met and Married Linda Parke Kizima and they married in 2010. A new chapter in life began. Traveling by motor home throughout the US and parts of Canada with a couple winters in Florida were enjoyed.
Summers brought families to the farm many weekends for boating, tubing and four wheeling. Weekdays in the late spring through early fall found him enjoying many new and old friends as members of Vikingland Camping Club. Campfires, potlucks and tours of various manufacturers were highlights along with beautiful parks for camping. And then Jerry discovered “Pickleball”... what can we say?
Above all? Jerry loved and lived his life for the Lord Jesus. Not in an outspoken way but by example. Because he was a believer, he lived life well.
The care and kindness shown to him and his family by the staff at Bethany has been very much appreciated. Moments Hospice with the wonderful team of caregivers as well.
Jerry leaves behind his wife Linda and their combined family of six children Jason (Janelle) Kuhlman of Monticello, Daniel (Shannon) Kuhlman of Plymouth, Jennifer Kuhlman of Forest Lake, Ty (Heather) Kizima of Fargo, Travis Kizima of Fargo and Geniece Kizima of Moorhead, seventeen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
