Jerry Tvrdik

Jerry Jerome Tvrdik was born on February 4, 1922, in Lake Mary Township the son of Joseph and Antonia (Dynda) Tvrdik. He attended School District #13 through the 8th grade. Jerry served his country during World War II in the Army, and was wounded during active duty near St. Lo, France.
Jerry was united in marriage to Pat Secoy in 1954. The couple farmed while raising three children. They always made time for friends and family; frequenting local dances and holiday parties. Visits from nieces and nephews were a special treat. Jerry enjoyed hunting and fishing, but also loved spending time with his horses and dogs. He served many years on the school board for Dist. 456. He was also a lifetime member of the Lowry American Legion and Alexandria VFW. Enjoyed the last five years at Adult Day Services where he met many new friends.
Jerry died on Monday, July 4, 2016, at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Fergus Falls. He is survived by his children: Craig (Susan) of Alexandria, Todd of Alexandria, Sharie (Leslie) Kalina of Alexandria; five grandchildren: Ashley (Tim) Maus, Jerry, Anthony, Kamra (TJ) Michel, Luke (Katie) Kalina ; three great grandchildren: Kyle & Kalina Michel, Hayley Maus; two brothers: Gene of Glenwood, Lawrence "Bud" of Alexandria.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pat; granddaughter, Leah Kalina; sisters: Adeline & Joan; brother, Daniel.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 8, 2016, at 1:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Bohemian Independent Cemetery in Lake Mary Township. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home. www.andersonfuneral.net
