Jimmie Doraska

June 2, 1936 — October 6, 2013

Jimmie Frank Doraska was born on June 2, 1936 on his parent?s farm in Lake Mary Township, MN. He attended country school and helped his parents on the farm. Jimmie enlisted into the United States Army during the Korean War. After two years he returned to Alexandria and met the ?Love of his Life? in Carolyn Tomzik. They were united in marriage on October 15, 1957 in Alexandria and four children were born to this union Sheila, William, Brad, and Trista. Jimmie raised his family on the farm his parents homesteaded. He worked hard to provide for his family by growing cash crops and raising dairy cows. He also worked at Cullens Home Center in Alexandria as a delivery and set up man. After he semi-retired in 2005 he continued to work various jobs around Alexandria. Jimmie was hard workingman, who could fix anything. He was known as the neighborhood mechanic and enjoyed restoring tractors. Jimmie was involved with his community by being a board member on the Dist. 452 school board, Federal Land Bank and the Lake Mary Township boards. He was a good-natured man with a loving soul who was non-judgmental and always was more than happy to help someone. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
