OBITUARY Jo Ann Olson was born on September 27, 1930 in Malden, Missouri to Thurston and Grace (Gilmore) Roberts. She moved to Minnesota at the age of sixteen. She lived in the Alexandria area her entire life until 2009 when she moved to live closer to her daughter in Princeton, MN. She married Raymond L. Olson on May 9, 1952. They raised two daughters Jackie and Lori. Jo Ann worked as a waitress and also as a cashier at Olson?s Super Market, Jim?s Red Owl, and Elden?s Food Fair until retirement. She enjoyed playing cards, laughing, cooking and baking for family and friends and visiting with family and friends. Jo Ann died on September 16, 2010 at the Elim Care and Rehab Center in Princeton, MN. She is survived by her two daughters Jackie (Paul) Droogsma; Lori (Patrick) McClellan; two grandchildren Ross (Rachel) Droogsma; Mindy (James) Vande Castle; two great grandchildren Rahnia and Aubrey; sisters Thelma (Byron) Stevenson; Jeannette McNamera; brothers Bob (Wanda) Roberts; L.T. Roberts; special friend Doris Ann Hauger. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond Olson and an infant brother. A funeral service was held on Monday, September 20, 2010 at the Anderson Funeral Home with the Reverend Dan Osborn officiating. Mertice Brueske played the organ and Dan Olson was the soloist. Interment was in the Fahlun Lutheran Cemetery near Nelson, MN. Casket Bearers were James and Mindy Vande Castle; Ross and Rachel Droogsma; and Dan Hauger.
