Jody Kim (Anderson) Sundlee was born on November 26, 1955 in Morris, MN to Palmer and Blossom Marcelle (Sorby) Anderson. She was baptized at First Lutheran Church in Morris and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria. The family moved to Alexandria in 1963 and she attended Lincoln Elementary School, and Central Junior High and graduated from Jefferson Senior High School in 1974. During her schooling, Jody was very active in sports and music with orchestra, band, choir, and Carolers, which continued into her adult life. She was also very involved in Girl Scouts, and Candy Striping. After graduation Jody went on to Augsburg College where she was in the college choir and ITT MN School of Business. While in the cities Jody worked for a few different retail stores until she moved back to Alexandria. On October 3, 1981, Jody was united in marriage to Kip Alan Sundlee at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria. To this union the couple was blessed with two children, Marnie Marcelle and Cameron Mitchell. Jody worked for Lake Carlos Villas for a few years working in the office, and then went to work as a bookkeeper for Howie?s Oil for 15 years and Sun Opta for 14 years. Jody enjoyed her childhood trips with her family to Montevideo going to the Bungalow Eat Shop, and family vacations they took to California and Washington D.C. She loved staying in touch with friends on Facebook and being actively involved with her children. She also loved oriental food and the flower, Birds of Paradise and spending time at the lake. Jody was very involved within her community and church singing in the church choir, Praise Team, Sonshine Six being very active in all assets of the Alexandria Area Arts Association, Euterpean Club, Central Lakes Symphony Orchestra, and the Sweet Adeline?s. Jody was also well known for helping keep the community informed with radio announcements for birthdays and anniversaries as well as her duet with her mom that they sung on the radio. Jody died unexpectedly of cardiomyopathy on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at her home at the age of 56. She is survived by her daughter, Marnie (Kevin Hawkinson) Sundlee of Morris; son, Cameron Sundlee of Alexandria; brother, Kirk Anderson of Alexandria; sister, Heidi (Bob) Bordeaux of Alexandria; nephews, Christopher, Anthony (Amanda) and Robbie Bordeaux. Jody is preceded in death by her parents, Palmer and Blossom Anderson. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria with Reverend John Peshek and Reverend Greg Billberg officiating. Music was provided by First Lutheran Chancel Choir, First Lutheran Praise Team, Patrick Kalina and Randy Morken. Honorary casket bearers were the First Lutheran Choir, Praise Team, Sonshine Six, Jefferson High School Class of 1974, and the Minnesota All State Lutheran Choir. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.
