John Bakke

John E. Bakke died April 29, 2013 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND from complications following surgery. Funeral services will be held at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria, MN on Saturday, May 4 at 1:00.Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. John was born May 8, 1951 in Minneapolis, MN. He graduated in 1969 from Evansville Public School, Evansville, MN and then from Moorhead State University. John owned his own contracting business for many years in Fargo. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, the Vikings and spending time with family. He also enjoyed music and was a very gifted singer. John is survived by his sisters Ann (Merle) Erickson of St. Joseph, MN and Mary (Paul) Jans of Fulda, MN. He is also survived by his half-brother Tim (Theresa) Horvei of Dexter, MN and half-sisters Peggy Owens and Julie Bock. Nieces and nephews include Dawn (Brian) Klebig, Matthew Erickson, Heidi Erickson, Kyle Jans, Adam Jans, Jarred Jans, Levi Horvei and Ellie Horvei. Survivors also include two great-nephews, one great-niece and special friend Lisa Butenhoff. The family wishes to thank the staff at Sanford Health for their expert care and compassion.
