John Braseth was born on January 31, 1947, in Mankato, Minnesota, the son of Phillip and Loretta (Rasmussen) Braseth. The family moved to Alexandria when John was 16 and he graduated from Alexandria High School and furthered his education at Alexandria Technical College.
John worked as a dispatcher for the Alexandria Police Department and Douglas County Sherriff Office. He loved the Alexandria Community and cherished the people he worked with. He also had a special place in his heart for his two nephews: Jimmy & Tommy John and niece, Kari Ann. He taught his nephews how to hunt and many special memories were created over the years. There are also many memories of fishing and hunting with friends.
His love of Halloween will never be forgotten – he even had a log of how many kids came and what the weather was for that day. He will be remembered as a kind, friendly man who was a “true blue guy”.
