John Higgins

John Carl Higgins was born on November 16, 1958, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota the son of James & Ruth (Bengston) Higgins. He attended Fergus Falls High School. John had several jobs throughout his life and was currently employed as a machinist at Doege Precision Machining at the time of his death. He had been employed there for five years and enjoyed the people he worked with and took pride in his employment. John enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. His two children were very important to him. He enjoyed music, playing cards, dice, fishing in many lakes of Alexandria, bon fires, working on one of his many projects. John died on Monday, March 21, 2011 at his home at the age of fifty-two years. He is survived by daughter, Nicole Ulrich and children Gavin and Carter Davis of St. Joseph, MN; son, Cory Higgins and children Jaime and Chloe Higgins of Underwood, MN; sisters, Betty Dixon of Canton, IL and Barbara Higgins of Alexandria; and several nieces and nephews by his loving partner, Dawn Lentz and her son, William of Alexandria. He was preceded in death by his parents and a niece, Heather Higgins. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Blessed be his memory and may he rest in peace. Memorial service was held on Thursday, March 24, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Erickson officiating.
