John Holverson

May 24, 1953 — February 20, 2008

John Henry Holverson was born on May 24, 1953, the son of Helen (Herrmann) and Henry Carl Holverson in Alexandria, MN. John attended public schools and graduated from Jefferson High School. He furthered his education attending the Alexandria Technical College for Drafting. John worked at Donnelly Manufacturing for a short time before moving to California to work until his father became ill and he needed to return home. John became an employee of Douglas Machine. He was employed there for thirty-three years and looked forward to his retirement down the road where he could pursue time for his many interests. John enjoyed motorcycles, snowmobiling, reading mechanical science magazines, and anything that involved engines. He also liked to hunt and was a member of the Alexandria Gun Club. John loved a good practical joke and a good hearty laugh. Many good times were spent with his buddies he grew up with throughout the years. Family was important to him as he fondly touched their lives. His favorite saying was, ?Ooh Ahh?? John, you will be sorely missed! John died unexpectedly at his home on February 20, 2008 at the age of 54 years. He is survived by his sister, Sheila and husband, Kenneth Olson of Nelson; two nieces: Tracy and husband, Scott Manson and their daughter, Peyton of Plymouth, MN and Megan Olson of Omaha, NE; aunts: Eldru Holverson and Zelda Herrmann; and his many cousins. John is preceded in death by his parents, and several aunts and uncles. A memorial service was held on Monday, February 25, 2008 at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Hinz officiating.
