Jack was born to John G. Wagner and Katherine P. (Loeffler) Wagner at home in Millerville, Minnesota. He was born with a number of disabilities due to lack of oxygen during his difficult birth. He was cared for and raised on the family farm. His faith and love grew with the help of a large extended family. All of his nieces remember being “My Girl.”
About the age of 45, because of several falls and broken bones, he needed more care than his parents could provide. For the last 46 years he has been in a nursing home or group home where he has received wonderful care and love.
Jack was known for his unconditional love, pleasant disposition, full smiles, and hearty laughs. He was friendly and welcoming and received awards for volunteering and reaching out to visitors.
Jack is survived by his brother, Jim (Judy) (Lucille Nadeau) of Little Canada and many nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by eight siblings: Ralph (Alice), Miles (Inez), Dick (Jan), Mervin (Ardelle), Frances (Joe) Revering, Ermalinda (Leo) Shea, Rosalinda (Mike) Kelly, and MaryAnn Wagner.
The Funeral Mass and burial service will be at the Catholic Parish in Millerville with visitation from 10:00am-11:00am followed by the Mass and burial of the urn and lunch in the parish hall.
The family wishes to thank all the caregivers who loved Jack and cared for him in Evansville, Alexandria, and especially in Starbuck, Minnesota.
