John Lynch

b. January 28, 1927

John Joseph Lynch was born January 28, 1927 in Milltown, WI, the son of Joseph and Theresa (Hurley) Lynch. He grew up in Milltown where he graduated from high school. John served in the US Navy. Following his service to his country John began work in St. Paul, MN as a taxi driver. He also drove truck for the Coca Cola Company in Eagan for many years. John was married to Carol Blasing. The couple made their home in St. Paul where they were blessed with two children, Susan and Arnold. In the late 1970?s John began building a home in Alexandria. John was clever and was not afraid to try his hand at any aspect of home construction. He spent his weekends and vacation time completing the home. John and Carol moved their family to Alexandria when the home was ready. Later John sold the home and built a second home on Lake Geneva. Work was John hobby; he was always busy improving things and keeping his home in order. On Thursday, August 18, 2011 John died at the age of eighty-four years. His daughter, Susan Lynch and two sisters preceded him in death. John is survived by his wife, Carol Lynch of Alexandria; one son, Arnold Lynch of Alexandria; one cousin, Tom Lynch of Alexandria; and two nieces, Mary Jo Peterson and Ruth Ann Peterson of Wisconsin. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at St. Mary?s Church in Alexandria. Reverend Father Steve Binsfeld was the celebrant. Entombment followed in St. Mary?s Cemetery. Casket bearers included Tom Lynch, Delmore Gustafson; Mark Gustafson, Tim Aarsvold and Howard Norman. Military honors were provided by the American legion Post 87, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 936 and the Minnesota National Guard. Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home.
