Joyce was born on December 4, 1942 in Alexandria, Minnesota, the daughter of William and Viola (Miller) Dyrud. She attended rural country school District #83 and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1960.
Joyce was united in marriage to Dale Kotz on July 8, 1961 at Zion Lutheran Church in Alexandria. After their marriage the couple moved to Minneapolis. To this union a son, Donald was born. Joyce worked for Genuine Parts Company for over thirty one years.
She enjoyed traveling through Europe, cruising the Caribbean, and has travelled most of the states in the United States. She especially liked going to Florida and Hawaii.
Joyce died on Thursday, June 25, 2015. She is survived by her son, Donald Kotz; sister, Arlene Schuhmacher; brother, James Dyrud; many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents: William & Viola; husband, Dale Kotz; brother, Charles Dyrud; infant twin sisters: Debbie & Irene; infant brother, Kenneth.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 3, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Nelson. Burial at Nelson Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home. www.andersonfuneral.net
