Joyce Loween

January 25, 1926 — June 4, 2018

Alexandria, MN

Joyce Lucille Loween the daughter of George and Maude (Westra) Eierman, was born on a farm near Nimrod, MN on January 25, 1926.  Joyce attended country school and Sebeka High School until the 11th grade.

Joyce was united in marriage to Harold Loween on October 20, 1943 in Nimrod Lutheran Church.  Together three sons were born to this union, Dennis, Ricky, and Bruce.  Joyce and her family lived in many places throughout Minnesota in homes Harold had built and then sold.  She stayed at home to raise the boys and keep them in line.

Some of Joyce’s hobbies included cooking, baking pies, ceramics, fishing, and painting.  Joyce liked vacationing in Florida and wintering Texas.  She also liked to ride along with Harold in his semi during trips to Seattle.  Joyce lived at Bethany on the Lake and enjoyed all the staff and residents she had met while living there.

One of Joyce’s memorable events in her life, was when she found Jesus her Lord and Savior at a tent revival in Oylen, MN.  From that time on, she would feel the love and comfort of Jesus in her life.  Joyce went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on June 4, 2018 at the age of 92 years old.  She is survived by her sons, Dennis (Linda) Loween of Wadena and Bruce (Wanda) Loween of Alexandria; grandchildren, David (Gayle) Loween of Louisville, KY, Terri (Mike) Severson of Coon Rapids, Chad (Gesica) Loween of North Oaks, Trent (Marcia) Loween of Roseville, Lance (Ashli) Loween of Omaha, NE, Amber (Josh) McManigle of Wadena, Anthony (Kelly) Loween of Omaha, NE, and Michael (Jaci) Loween of Alexandria; 21 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold Loween; son, Ricky Loween; daughters-in-law, Renae Loween and Leone Loween; three brothers and three sisters.
